Sweet berries are a food item you can’t craft. You have to find them growing on bushes in the wild. They show up in certain biomes and can be a bit annoying to harvest because the bushes damage you if you get too close.
Where to Find Sweet Berries
Sweet berries grow on bushes in the Taiga biome and similar cold forest areas. They’re pretty common if you know where to look. Just search in those biomes and you’ll spot the berry bushes eventually.
In Creative Mode
If you’re in Creative Mode, sweet berries are easy to grab. Here’s where they show up in the Creative inventory:
| Minecraft Version | Creative Menu Location |
|---|---|
| 1.14 – 1.19 | Foodstuffs |
| 1.19.3+ | Food & Drinks |
How to Harvest Sweet Berries in Survival
Step 1: Find the Bush
Search the Taiga biome. Sweet berry bushes are medium-sized plants with bright red berries on them. You can’t miss them once you spot a few.
Watch out: Don’t get too close to the bush or it will damage you. Break it from a distance if you can.
Step 2: Break It
Hold down your attack button (left click on Java, tap and hold on mobile, hold RT/R2/ZR on consoles) to break the bush. It’ll drop smaller sweet berries that float on the ground.
Step 3: Pick Them Up
Grab the berries before they disappear. They stack up to 64 in your inventory and are useful for eating or feeding foxes.
