Suvrenim’s Gunpowder Mod 1.20.1 – New Ores

Add Sulfur and Niter ores to Minecraft 1.20.1. Create chain explosions and craft gunpowder. Forge mod with new explosive mechanics.

Suvrenim’s Gunpowder Mod adds two new ores that completely change how explosions work in Minecraft 1.20.1. If you want to blow things up on a bigger scale, this mod is worth checking out.

What’s New

The mod introduces Sulfur and Niter ores that spawn at the same depth as copper. Here’s the main difference between them:

Sulfur Ore is the explosive one. When it takes damage from any explosion, it automatically explodes too. Chain multiple sulfur blocks together and they all blow up at the exact same time. This lets you create huge simultaneous explosions instead of waiting for chain reactions. All sulfur products work as fuel, so they’re useful beyond just making explosions.

Niter Ore is stable. It doesn’t burn or explode like sulfur. Both ore types drop 1-9 chunks when mined, giving you plenty of material to work with.

Key Features

  • Two new ores: Sulfur and Niter
  • Craft gunpowder using the new Mortar and Pestle
  • Sulfur creates chain explosions when exposed to any explosion
  • Works well with Just Enough Items (JEI) to view crafting recipes
  • All sulfur items can be used as fuel
