The Slime Compendium Mod adds a bunch of new slime variants to Minecraft, each with their own spawn locations and rarity levels. Instead of just regular slimes everywhere, you get biome-specific creatures that actually fit their surroundings. It’s a simple mod that makes slime hunting way more interesting.
What’s Included
The mod adds 20+ different slime types across common, uncommon, rare, and epic rarity tiers. Each variant spawns in specific biomes or at certain heights, so you’ll encounter different slimes depending on where you’re exploring.
Common Slimes
- Desert Slime – Spawns in deserts
- Birch Slime – Found in birch forests
- Jungle Slime – Inhabits jungle biomes
- Forest Slime – Lives in regular forests
- Mountain Slime – Spawns in extreme hills and tall biomes
- Swamp Slime – Found in swamps
- Ice Slime – Lives in snow and ice biomes
- Snow Slime – Spawns in snow biomes
- Mesa Slime – Found in mesa biomes
- Plains Slime – Inhabits plains
- Taiga Slime – Spawns in taiga biomes
Uncommon Slimes
- Flower Slime – Found in flower plains and flower forests
- Mushroom Slime – Spawns in roofed forests and mushroom islands
Rare and Epic Slimes
- Coal Slime – Uncommon variant that spawns below Y level 60
- Gold Slime – Rare, spawns below Y level 32
- Pumpkin Slime – Rare variant found in forests
- Diamond Slime – Epic rarity, spawns below Y level 16
- Melon Slime – Epic rarity found in jungles
How to Install
This mod requires Minecraft Forge. If you don’t have Forge installed yet, follow our guides below first.

How To Download & Install Fabric Mods
Once Forge is set up, just drop the mod jar file into your mods folder. You’ll find it at .minecraft/mods in your Minecraft directory. Launch the game and you’re done.
Compatibility
The Slime Compendium Mod works with Minecraft 1.9.0 and 1.10.2. It plays nicely with most other mods, though it’s always good to test in a world backup first if you’re running a large modpack.
