Sea pickles are small decorative items you can find underwater in warm ocean biomes. They give off a nice glow and can light up your underwater builds, plus they’re useful for crafting lime dye if you need it. Here’s everything you need to know about finding and using them.

Where to Find Sea Pickles

Location in Creative Mode

If you’re building in Creative, sea pickles are easy to grab. Look for them in your creative inventory:

Java Edition Version Creative Menu Location
1.13 – 1.19 Decoration Blocks
1.19.3 – 1.20+ Natural Blocks

Finding Sea Pickles in Survival Mode

In Survival, you’ll find sea pickles growing naturally underwater. They spawn in warm ocean biomes, usually clustered around coral reefs on the ocean floor. You can spot them as small pink and yellow spiky items attached to the seabed.

To get them, just break them by left-clicking and holding (or your platform’s equivalent). They’ll drop as an item that floats to the surface, so grab them before they drift away or despawn.

How to Harvest Sea Pickles

Breaking a sea pickle is straightforward. Use these controls:

  • Java Edition: Left click and hold
  • Pocket Edition: Tap and hold
  • Xbox: Hold RT
  • PlayStation: Hold R2
  • Nintendo Switch: Hold ZR
  • Windows 10: Left click and hold

Once broken, the sea pickle item will float up. Pick it up before it disappears, and it goes straight to your inventory.
