Royal Variations adds royal versions of vanilla mobs with enhanced abilities and exclusive drops. These tougher creatures pose a real challenge and reward you with valuable loot. It’s a solid mod if you want harder combat encounters and new items without bloating your modlist.
Royal Mobs
Royal Zombie
Stronger and tougher than regular zombies. Always spawns with two regular zombies as backup. During combat, the Royal Zombie can equip nearby zombies with a Knight’s Helmet and iron sword, boosting their defense and damage. When attacking, it applies the Chosen Victim effect, giving all nearby undead a speed boost.
Royal Skeleton
This skeleton’s arrows hit hard and can knock you back. Land a headshot and it weakens, slows down, and becomes visible through walls. When you attack it, the skeleton jumps back and keeps distance. Overall, much more dangerous than a regular skeleton.
Royal Creeper
Faster and tougher with more health. It carries toxic spores that spread when it explodes. Players hit by spores get poisoned and slowed, while hostile mobs get a speed and damage boost instead. Kill it before the explosion and only nearby mobs get affected by the spores.
New Items
Spiritual Crown Shard
Drops from any royal mob. Collect these to craft a Spiritual Crown.
Spiritual Crown
Right-click any mob to transform it into its royal variant if one exists. One use per crown.
Royal Staff
Dropped by Royal Zombies. Right-click to boost defense and damage for you and nearby tamed animals. Uses one durability per use. Works as a melee weapon and repairs with gold.
Royal Knight Helmet
Rarely drops from zombies wearing this helmet during a Royal Zombie’s aura effect. Solid protection and repairs with iron.
Royal Bone
Drops from Royal Skeletons. Use it to instantly tame a wolf or craft Royal Bone Meal.
Royal Bone Meal
Made from royal bones. Works like bone meal but only in 3 by 3 areas. Also used to craft Spectral Arrows.
Royal Gunpowder
Dropped by Royal Creepers. Craft it into Royal Bombs for throwing explosives with a large radius. Direct hits on enemies deal heavy damage. Block hits cause minimal damage but destroy and eject blocks like TNT.
Installation
Download and install Minecraft Forge for your version. Then put the mod file in your .minecraft/mods folder.
You’ll also need GeckoLib Mod.
