How to Make a Red, White & Blue Creeper Firework Rocket

Firework rockets are one of the most fun things you can craft in Minecraft. This guide walks you through making a red, white and blue creeper-shaped firework rocket step by step. Whether you’re putting on a show or just want to light up the sky, this is the recipe you need.

Materials You’ll Need

To craft this firework rocket, gather these materials:

  • 1 Paper
  • 1 Gunpowder
  • 1 Red, White and Blue Creeper-Shaped Firework Star

Make sure you already have the firework star before starting. That’s the part that gives the rocket its shape and colors.

Crafting Steps

Step 1: Open Your Crafting Table

Place down a crafting table and open it. You’ll see a 3×3 grid where you can place your materials.

Step 2: Place the Materials

The placement matters. Put the items in this exact pattern:

  • Top row: Paper in the first slot, Gunpowder in the second slot
  • Middle row: Red, White and Blue Creeper-Shaped Firework Star in the first slot
  • Bottom row: Leave empty

When you place everything correctly, the firework rocket will appear on the right side of the crafting menu.

Step 3: Move It to Your Inventory

Click the firework rocket and drag it into your inventory. Done. You’ve got yourself a creeper-shaped firework.

Flight Duration and Customization

The number of gunpowder you use controls how high the rocket flies. In this recipe we used 1 gunpowder, so the flight duration is 1. Want it to go higher? Use more gunpowder.

Here’s the breakdown:

  • 1 Gunpowder = Flight Duration 1 (shorter flight)
  • 2 Gunpowder = Flight Duration 2 (medium flight)
  • 3 Gunpowder = Flight Duration 3 (long flight)

Just use the same pattern but add more gunpowder to the second slot. The rocket will stay in the air longer before exploding.

What Can You Do With Firework Rockets?

Once you’ve made your rocket, you’ve got options:

  • Launch them from the ground to create fireworks shows
  • Use them with an Elytra to rocket-boost yourself while gliding
  • Mix different colored and shaped rockets for bigger displays
  • Set them off at celebrations or just for fun

Other Firework Types

Not a fan of creepers? You can make the same rocket with different shapes and colors:

Small Ball, Large Ball, Burst, and Star-Shaped versions are available in every color combination. The crafting recipe stays the same, just swap out the firework star for a different type and color.

Try mixing different rocket types to create unique fireworks displays. Red, white and blue is patriotic and eye-catching, but experiment with other color combinations to find your favorite.
