Quality Tools Mod
Quality Tools adds random qualities to your tools, armor, and weapons when they enter your inventory. Inspired by Terraria’s loot system, every tool you find or craft gets a random quality that affects its durability and performance. Qualities range from terrible to incredible, so you might get lucky with a powerful pickaxe or end up with a worthless shovel.
How Qualities Work
Tools get random stat modifiers that can increase or decrease specific attributes. You might find a sword with higher attack damage but slower swing speed, or a pickaxe that digs faster but has lower durability. Some tools get bonus reach, while others might be completely broken and better off thrown away. Hover over any tool to see its quality stats and bonuses.
All qualities and which tools can get them are fully configurable. If you want to disable certain modifiers or add specific tools, you can edit the config file to suit your playstyle.
Reforging Station
Don’t like your tool’s quality? Use a Reforging Station to reroll it. Place the tool in the top slot, add the material used to repair it in the bottom slot, and click the button. The tool gets a new random quality while using one repair material.
The mod automatically recognizes repair items for vanilla tools and mods like Botania. If a tool isn’t normally repairable, check the config file to set a custom reforging material. For example, iron ingots for shears.
Baubles Support and Emerald Items
The mod works with Baubles, so baubles slot items can get qualities too. It includes two new items: an Emerald Ring and Emerald Amulet. Both can be reforged using emeralds if you want to keep trying for better qualities.
