Practical Tools Mod adds three new tools to Minecraft: the Excavator, Hammer, and Greataxe. Each one is a 3×3 version of a vanilla tool, letting you dig, mine, and chop way faster. The Greataxe is especially cool on trees – swing it once and the whole tree drops.
The Tools
Excavator
A 3×3 shovel. Dig up dirt, grass, and sand in one swing instead of clicking repeatedly.
Hammer
A 3×3 pickaxe. Mine stone, ore, and mineral blocks faster and cover more ground with each swing.
Greataxe
A 3×3 axe that fells entire trees instantly. No more chopping wood one block at a time.
Material Variants
Each tool comes in Iron, Gold, and Diamond. They craft and repair just like vanilla tools, except you use blocks instead of ingots.
Installation
You’ll need a mod loader first. Pick one:
Forge: How To Download & Install Mods with Minecraft Forge
Fabric: How To Download & Install Fabric Mods
Drop the mod jar into your .minecraft/mods folder and launch the game.
Finding Recipes
Want to see the crafting recipes in-game? Install Just Enough Items (for Forge) or Roughly Enough Items (for Fabric) and you’ll have all the recipes right there.
