Polished blackstone is a decorative block that came with the Nether Update. It’s basically blackstone but smooth and shiny. You craft it from regular blackstone and it gives you 4 blocks per recipe, so no waste. Great for building sleek dark structures anywhere.

Where to Find Polished Blackstone in Creative Mode

You’ll find polished blackstone in the Building Blocks tab of your Creative inventory. Available in Java Edition 1.16 and all versions since.

Materials Needed

You need 4 blackstone blocks to make polished blackstone. You get 4 polished blackstone back, so it’s a straight 1:1 conversion.

How to Craft Polished Blackstone

Step 1: Open Your Crafting Table

Start with your regular crafting table open so you see the 3×3 grid.

Step 2: Place the Blackstone

Put your 4 blackstone blocks in a 2×2 pattern. They go in the top-left corner of the grid:

  • Top row: blackstone in slot 1 and slot 2
  • Second row: blackstone in slot 1 and slot 2

Leave all other slots empty.

Step 3: Grab Your Result

The 4 polished blackstone will appear in the output slot on the right. Move it to your inventory and you’re done.
