Ominous Shaders adds colorful, atmospheric fog to your Minecraft world. The fog color changes randomly based on where you are and what time it is, shifting slowly over the course of many in-game days. It’s a whole new look for Minecraft that transforms familiar locations into something mysterious and immersive.
When you get up close to blocks or mobs, you’ll notice slight texturing in the fog, so it’s still playable. But the main draw is the eerie atmosphere. Some in-game locations become gloomy and dark with this shader active, while others take on completely different moods. You can adjust how strong the effect is to match your playstyle.
Features
Colorful Fog Effects
The core feature is randomized fog that changes color based on your 3D position. Instead of the standard fog color, you get these atmospheric, shifting tones that make exploration feel different every time.
Performance Settings
Not all systems are the same. You can adjust the volumetric lighting and bloom effects to find the right balance between visuals and FPS. You can also control the fog intensity and brightness independently.
Silhouette Rendering
This shader pack changes how things look with silhouettes and dramatic shadows. Familiar biomes and structures take on a new character, making even places you’ve been a hundred times feel fresh.
Requirements
You need OptiFine installed to use this shader pack. OptiFine adds shader support to Minecraft.
