How do I install OfflineSkins Mod?

First install Forge or Fabric for your Minecraft version. Then download the mod and place the JAR file in your .minecraft/mods folder. Restart Minecraft and you're done.

Can I use custom skins on offline servers?

Yes, that's the whole point of this mod. Place your skin PNG files in .minecraft/cachedImages/skins named after the username, and the mod will load them on offline servers.

What happens if a skin doesn't load?

The mod automatically tries Crafatar.com next as a fallback. If that's also unavailable, it uses any cached skin files you've provided. You can disable the Crafatar fallback in the config.

Does this mod work with other mods?

Yes, OfflineSkins Mod is compatible with other mods. It only handles skin loading, so it won't conflict with most other client-side mods.

Do I need to install this on the server?

No, this is a client-only mod. Only players who want to use custom skins need to install it. Server owners don't need to do anything.

Cache Skins Locally

Crafatar Fallback

If a skin can’t load from normal sources, the mod tries Crafatar (crafatar.com) automatically. You can turn this off in the config if you prefer to use only cached or custom skins.
