Name Pain Mod recolors player and mob names based on their current health. By default, names gradually shift to red as creatures take damage, but you can customize the colors and transparency to your liking. It’s a simple way to see how damaged something is without cluttering your screen with extra HUDs.
What Does It Do?
Tracking mob and player health gets tedious. Scoreboard overlays take up space. Damage indicators can feel clunky. Name Pain Mod solves this by changing the color of nameplates based on how much health something has left. Dying mobs turn red. Healthy mobs stay their normal color. It’s that simple.
How It Works
The mod watches the health of every mob and player on your screen. As they take damage, their nameplate gradually shifts color. With default settings, you’ll see names turn redder as health drops. You can watch Steve’s name go from white to deep red as he learns why digging straight down is a bad idea.
Not just names either. The nameplate background itself can be recolored. Want a dark red nameplate behind low-health mobs? Done. Want to hide damaged nameplates entirely? Set the transparency to zero.
Full Customization
Every color and transparency value is configurable. If you want nameplates to stay one color at all health levels, just set the minimum health color equal to the maximum health color. Want to hide nameplates from damaged enemies? Turn the alpha channel all the way down. The mod is flexible enough for any preference you have.
Installation
Name Pain Mod requires a mod loader. Choose Forge or Fabric for your Minecraft version, then drop the mod file into your mods folder.
