What is Mossy Cobblestone?
Mossy cobblestone is a common building block in Minecraft that adds a weathered, overgrown look to structures. You’ll find it naturally spawning in dungeons, ravines, and ocean ruins, but you can also craft it yourself using simple materials. There are two different recipes to make it, so you have options depending on what you have on hand.
Where to Find Mossy Cobblestone in Creative Mode
If you’re playing in Creative Mode, mossy cobblestone is easy to grab. In Java Edition (versions 1.8 through 1.19.4), it’s located in the Building Blocks tab of your creative inventory.
Materials You Need
To craft mossy cobblestone, you’ll need one of these combinations:
- 1 Cobblestone + 1 Vines
- 1 Cobblestone + 1 Moss Block
That’s it. Pretty straightforward.
How to Craft Mossy Cobblestone
Step 1: Open Your Crafting Table
Open a crafting table to get your 3×3 crafting grid.
Step 2: Add the Materials
You have two options here:
Recipe 1 (Cobblestone + Vines): Place 1 cobblestone in the first box of the first row, and 1 vines in the second box of the first row.
Recipe 2 (Cobblestone + Moss Block): Place 1 cobblestone in the first box of the first row, and 1 moss block in the second box of the first row.
Either combination works. The pattern matters, so put them exactly where we described.
Step 3: Move to Your Inventory
Once the mossy cobblestone appears in the result box, grab it and add it to your inventory. You’re done.
