Mo’ Withers Mod 1.8 adds 37 brand new Wither variants to your Minecraft world. Each one is completely different with unique abilities, damage types, and stats. Some will destroy everything in sight. Others will actually help you.
Most new Withers spawn with spawn eggs only. The main exceptions are the Wither Girl, Pink Wither, and Friendly Wither. Most variants are hostile and will attack living mobs, but a few are allies instead.

Notable Withers Explained
Void Wither
- Health: 10,000
- Skull Damage: 46
- Speed: Slightly slower
- Armor: Extreme
The final boss of Mo’ Withers. This is the strongest Wither by far. It converts everything to darkness and will absolutely ruin you. Even the idle sounds are creepy as hell.
Fire Wither
- Health: 600
- Skull Damage: 8-16
- Speed: Standard
- Armor: Average
A flaming hothead that shoots fire skulls. Hates forests and despises rain or cold biomes. Keep this thing away from your wooden structures.
Lightning Wither
- Health: 900
- Skull Damage: 8-23 (plus lightning bolts)
- Speed: Fast
- Armor: Average
Shoots lightning bolts constantly. During thunderstorms, it attracts even more lightning to heal itself. One of the most dangerous variants. Might legitimately be unkillable.
Earth Wither
- Health: 1,500
- Skull Damage: 15
- Speed: Slow
- Armor: High
Slow but absolutely tanky. Its skulls turn to dirt on contact. Rain makes it even slower. Get it on the ground and it regenerates crazy fast. Rain actually weakens it, preventing flight.
Water Wither
- Health: 600
- Skull Damage: 12-24
- Speed: Slightly faster
- Armor: None
The wettest Wither around. Its skulls turn to water when they hit blocks. Takes damage in hot biomes. Won’t attack squids for some reason.
Ice Wither
- Health: 600
- Skull Damage: 12
- Speed: Slightly slower
- Armor: Average
Stronger than the Water Wither. Its skulls turn to ice (sometimes packed) on contact. Gives nearby mobs hypothermia. Takes damage in hot biomes.
Air Wither
- Health: 300
- Skull Damage: 8-20
- Speed: Very fast
- Armor: None
Fast and nearly invisible. Passes through walls and blows away mobs. Low health but hard to hit because you can barely see it.
Friendly Wither
- Health: 300
- Skull Damage: 8 (armor piercing)
- Speed: Standard
- Armor: Low
The good guy of the bunch. Actually helps you fight mobs. Show it a Nether Star and it becomes your companion. Right click with another Nether Star after logging back in to remind it who you are. You can kill this one too if you need to.
Pink Wither
- Health: 50
- Skull Damage: 8
- Speed: Fast
- Armor: None
Not a fighter. This Wither heals living creatures and damages undead. Its skulls heal anything they hit and grow plants like bonemeal. Basically a walking support spell.
Wither Girl (Samantha)
- Health: 1,200
- Skull Damage: 20 (armor piercing)
- Speed: Very fast
- Armor: Considerable
The only female Wither and she’s special. Samantha has her own backstory and quest line. She fights evil Withers on your side and won’t attack you. Give her a Blaze Rod and she’ll trade you Nether Warts and Ghast Tears.
Rich Wither
- Health: 1,200
- Skull Damage: 15
- Speed: Standard
- Armor: High
Throws gold at your face to attack. Its skulls turn into gold blocks. Don’t kill it too quick. All that gold is yours once it dies.
Installation
Mo’ Withers Mod 1.8 requires Minecraft Forge. Here’s the setup process:
- Install Minecraft Forge for Minecraft 1.8
- Download the mod file below
- Place the .jar file in your .minecraft/mods folder
- Launch Minecraft with Forge selected
