Can I paint transparent or half-blocks?

No. MC Paint only works on full, non-translucent blocks. This means you can paint stone, dirt, wood, and similar solid blocks, but not glass, slabs, or stairs.

Do I need Fabric or Forge?

MC Paint works with Minecraft Forge. Some versions may have Fabric support, but check your version's download to be sure.

What's the highest resolution I can paint at?

You can paint at up to 128x128 resolution per block. Lower resolutions like 8x8 or 16x16 are faster to paint but give you less detail.

Does my friend need the mod to see my painted blocks?

Yes. Both players need MC Paint installed to see the custom painted textures. Without it, the blocks will appear as their default textures.

Will MC Paint work with other mods?

MC Paint works with most mods that don't conflict with block rendering. If you have issues, check the mod description or try disabling other mods to narrow down the problem.

MC Paint Mod Overview

MC Paint adds a brush tool to Minecraft that lets you paint blocks just like Microsoft Paint. Right-click any block and a paint editor pops up. You can customize individual block textures at resolutions from 8×8 all the way to 128×128. Perfect for adding unique details to your builds or creating pixel art directly on blocks.

How to Get the Brush

Craft the brush like a pickaxe, but use wool instead of your tool material on top. We recommend installing Just Enough Items (Forge) or Roughly Enough Items (Fabric) to see the exact recipe in-game.

How to Use

Right-click on any block with the brush. A paint editor window opens where you can draw directly on the block texture. The resolution determines how many pixels you’re working with, so higher resolutions give you more detail. When you’re done, your changes save to that specific block.
