How to Make a Letter D Banner in Minecraft

Learn how to craft a Letter D banner in Minecraft using the loom. Step-by-step guide with all required materials and patterns explained.

Making a Letter D banner is a great way to add lettered decorations to your base. Whether you want to spell out names on flags or decorate shields, the loom makes it pretty straightforward once you know the pattern combination.

What You Need

To craft a Letter D banner, gather these materials:

  • 1 White Banner
  • 4 Black Dye
  • 2 White Dye

Pro Tip: You can swap black dye for any other color to change the letter color. Want a red Letter D? Use 4 red dye instead. Same pattern works with any dye color you prefer.

How to Craft the Letter D Banner

You’ll need a loom for this. The crafting process involves layering six different patterns on top of each other. Work through each step in order.

Step 1: Open Your Loom

Place down a loom and open it. You’ll see three slots where you can add your banner, dye, and banner pattern.

Step 2: Apply the Black Chief Pattern

Put your white banner in the loom with 1 black dye. Select “Chief” from the pattern list. This creates the top horizontal stripe of your letter D. Move the banner to your inventory.

Step 3: Apply the Black Pale Sinister Pattern

Take the banner from step 2 and place it back in the loom with 1 black dye. Select “Pale Sinister” this time. This adds the left vertical stripe. Move it back to your inventory.

Step 4: Apply the Black Base Pattern

Put the banner back in the loom with 1 black dye and select “Base”. This creates the bottom horizontal stripe. Move it to your inventory again.

Step 5: Apply the White Bordure Indented Pattern

Place the banner with 1 white dye and select “Bordure Indented”. This adds the curved detail that makes it look like the letter D. Move it to your inventory.

Step 6: Apply the Black Per Pale Pattern

Put the banner back in with 1 black dye and select “Per Pale”. This adds more definition to the letter shape. Move it to your inventory.

Step 7: Apply the White Bordure Pattern

Final step. Place the banner with your last white dye and select “Bordure”. This completes the letter D with the border outline. Move the finished banner to your inventory.

Done. You now have a Letter D banner ready to use on flags, shields, or wherever you want it.
