Higher Enchants Data Pack (1.21.1, 1.21)

Higher Enchants lets you boost enchantments past vanilla limits. Build a Celestial Enchanter to get Sharpness X, Unbreaking X, and more.

Higher Enchants is a data pack that breaks through Minecraft’s enchantment level caps. Want Sharpness X on your sword? Unbreaking X on your tools? Power X on a bow? This pack makes it possible through the Celestial Enchanter, a multi-block structure you build and power with lightning.

Features

The Celestial Enchanter

This is the core of the data pack. It’s a 3×3 multi-block structure that activates when struck by lightning. You’ll need to build it exactly as shown in the gallery above. Keep the bookshelves facing north.

You’ll need these materials:

  • 8 Obsidian blocks
  • 1 Beacon
  • 2 Bookshelves
  • 8 Amethyst blocks
  • 6 Anvils
  • 1 Enchanting Table
  • 1 Netherite Block
  • 1 Lightning Rod

Once you’ve placed everything, wait for a thunderstorm. When lightning strikes the Lightning Rod, the Enchanter activates and you’re ready to use it.

How to Use It

Using the Celestial Enchanter costs lapis, end crystals, and an enchanted book with the enchantment you want. Here’s the cost breakdown:

  • Levels 1-6: 64 lapis per level + 1 end crystal
  • Level 7: 128 lapis + 1 end crystal
  • Level 8: 192 lapis + 1 end crystal
  • Level 9: 256 lapis + 1 end crystal
  • Level 10: 320 lapis + 1 end crystal

The process is simple. Drop your item on top of the Enchanter. Throw in your lapis and end crystals. Place the enchanted book in the glow item frame on the front. The Enchanter will consume everything and boost the enchantment by 1 level. Throw a piece of glass on top to confirm, and you’ll get your upgraded item back.

What You Can Enchant

You can enchant basically anything in the game. Golden sword with Sharpness? Pickaxe with Fire Aspect? Pumpkin pie with Knockback? All possible. The only exception is glass and glass panes, which serve as activation items instead.

You can also enchant completely unenchanted items from scratch if you want to skip the vanilla enchanting table. Any other data on your item (custom name, other enchantments) will stick around after the upgrade.

To move or destroy an Enchanter, drop TNT on it. Everything inside drops out (lapis, end crystals, your item, and a spawn egg). Use the spawn egg to place a new one anywhere.

All Maximum Enchantments

Every enchantment in Minecraft can reach level X with this pack:

  • Unbreaking X, Fire Protection X, Blast Protection X
  • Projectile Protection X, Thorns X, Feather Falling X
  • Respiration X, Aqua Affinity X, Depth Strider X
  • Soul Speed X, Swift Sneak X, Lure X
