Get Back To Home Mod is a simple but powerful teleportation mod for Minecraft. Set your home point and teleport back to it whenever you want. The catch? It costs hunger. Everything in this mod is fully configurable so you can tweak it to match your playstyle.
Commands
Using this mod is straightforward. Just type these commands in chat:
- /sethome or /createhome – marks your home location
- /home or /back – teleports you to your home
- /removehome or /deletehome – deletes your home point (optional)
How Hunger Costs Work
Every teleport costs you hunger. The mod uses vanilla Minecraft hunger mechanics to make it feel natural. Moving horizontally costs 0.1 hunger per meter (same as sprinting). Going up costs 0.2 per meter. Going down doesn’t cost anything.
You can adjust these costs in the config file with four settings: cost_for_one_meter_horizontally, cost_for_one_meter_up, cost_for_one_meter_down, and cost_multiplier.
Two Payment Methods
You have a choice of how the mod calculates hunger costs:
- Method 1: Movement exhaustion is added to your character. Your hunger and saturation lower naturally like normal gameplay. Teleportation always goes through unless you starve.
- Method 2: The mod directly removes saturation, hunger, and food from your toolbar (if needed) to pay the cost. If you don’t have enough hunger to cover the teleport, it cancels and nothing is spent.
Special Features
Teleporting While Falling: Disabled by default. Turn it on in config if you want to use it as an emergency escape.
Teleport Delay: You can enable a delay before teleportation. Delay mode makes you wait 3 seconds. Stay Still mode also waits 3 seconds but cancels if you move or take damage. Useful if you want teleportation to feel less instant.
Mob Detection: By default you can’t teleport if a mob is within 5 meters of you. This stops you from escaping combat instantly. Change the radius in config.
Mount Teleportation: Configure whether you teleport with your horse, boat, or other mount. You can also set a separate cost multiplier for mounting teleports.
Setting Home at Bed: Three options: chat commands only (default), sleep at a bed to set home, or both. Combine mode lets you use chat commands or sleep at a bed.
Bug Fixes
This mod also fixes a vanilla Minecraft bug. If you have 0 food and 0 saturation, your exhaustion level no longer decreases automatically.

Compatibility
Get Back To Home works with other mods in most cases. It’s been tested with common modpacks. If you’re using Hunger Overhaul alongside this, make sure to set “I:damageOnStarve” to 1 in Hunger Overhaul’s config to avoid getting killed instantly while testing.
