Fixed Shields Mod Overview
Shields are clunky in vanilla Minecraft. There’s a 5 tick delay when you equip them, which kills your combat flow. You switch to your shield, get hit by an arrow, and realize you’re still holding your sword. Fixed Shields removes that delay completely, giving you instant shield equipping.
It’s a simple change with a huge impact on how fighting feels. Block damage, parry attacks, drink potions. No more awkward timing windows.
What This Mod Does
- Reduces shield equipping tick rate from 5 to 0, giving you instant shield swaps
- Works on servers, not just single player
- Tiny mod, zero conflicts with other mods
Installation
You need Fabric and Fabric API installed first.
