Extra Golems Mod Overview
Extra Golems (also called More Golems) adds 35+ new golems you can craft and summon. Each one is made from different vanilla blocks and comes with its own stats, abilities, and appearance. If you like the Iron Golem but want more variety, this mod gives you tons of options.
What You Get
This mod lets you build golems from almost any block in the game. Wood, glass, diamond, nether brick, mushrooms – there’s a golem for it. Some are weak but fast. Some are tanky with special abilities. A few are just hilarious to watch in action.
The Golem List
- Diamond Golem – 220 HP, 20 attack. The tank. Use when you want raw power.
- Emerald Golem – 190 HP, 18 attack. Nearly as good as diamond.
- Bedrock Golem – 999 HP, 32 attack, indestructible. Creative mode only, spawn with a special item.
- Obsidian Golem – 120 HP, 18 attack. Solid mid-tier choice.
- Nether Quartz Golem – 85 HP, 8.5 attack.
- Bone Golem – 78 HP, 6.5 attack.
- Gold Golem – 80 HP, 8 attack, knockback resistance.
- Endstone Golem – 50 HP, 7 attack, can teleport.
- Lapis Lazuli Golem – 50 HP, 6 attack, applies negative potion effects to targets.
- Magma Golem – 22 HP, 4.5 attack, lights mobs on fire, slowly melts cobblestone.
- Nether Wart Golem – 22 HP, 1.5 attack, plants nether wart on soul sand.
- Coal Block Golem – 14 HP, 2.5 attack, can inflict Blindness.
- TNT Golem – 14 HP, 2.5 attack, explodes when lit on fire, killed, or sometimes while attacking.
- Nether Brick Golem – 25 HP, 7 attack, sets targets on fire.
- Prismarine Golem – 24 HP, 8 attack.
- Sea Lantern Golem – 26 HP, 4 attack, lights up the area around it.
- Stained Clay Golem – 26 HP, 3 attack, right-click to change color.
- Crafting Golem – 26 HP, 2 attack, right-click to open a crafting table.
- Mushroom Block Golem – 30 HP, 3 attack, plants mushrooms, right-click to change texture.
- Packed Ice Golem – 18 HP, 7 attack, walks on water and lava by freezing blocks.
- Glass Golem – 8 HP, 14 attack. Fragile but hits hard.
- Glowstone Golem – 8 HP, 12 attack, glows and lights up in 1.15+.
- Stained Glass Golem – 9 HP, 12 attack, right-click to change color.
- Red Sandstone Golem – 15 HP, 4 attack.
- Sandstone Golem – 15 HP, 4 attack.
- Hardened Clay Golem – 22 HP, 4 attack.
- Redstone Golem – 18 HP, 2 attack, emits redstone power.
- Packed Ice Golem – 18 HP, 7 attack, walks on water and lava.
- Melon Golem – 18 HP, 1.5 attack, plants flowers occasionally.
- Log Golem – 20 HP, 3 attack, right-click to change wood type.
- Clay Golem – 20 HP, 2 attack.
- Sponge Golem – 20 HP, 2 attack, soaks up water.
- Slimy Golem – 20 HP, 2.5 attack, knockback attack is massive.
- Wool Golem – 10 HP, 1 attack, right-click to change color.
- Straw Golem – 10 HP, 1 attack.
- Leaf Golem – 6 HP, 0.5 attack, has Regeneration I.
- Librarian Golem – Requires the Bookshelf mod, 28 HP, 4 attack, grants itself beneficial potion effects.
How to Build a Golem
Creating a golem works just like making an Iron Golem. Here’s the process:
- Craft a Golem Spell by combining 1 Feather, 1 Redstone, 1 Ink Sack, and 1 Paper in a crafting grid.
- Craft a Golem Head by combining your Golem Spell with a pumpkin. The block looks like a regular pumpkin since the magic is inside.
- Place blocks in a T formation on the ground. Use whatever material you want the golem to be made from.
- Place the Golem Head on top. The golem spawns and immediately starts protecting you.
Once built, your golems act like vanilla Iron Golems. They hunt monsters, defend your base, and don’t go after you unless you hit them first.
Crafting Tips
If you want to see all the crafting recipes, install Just Enough Items (for Forge) or Roughly Enough Items (for Fabric). Both mods show you every recipe in-game.
Installation
Extra Golems works with both Forge and Fabric mod loaders.
For Forge:
- Install Minecraft Forge for your Minecraft version.
- Download the Extra Golems mod file for your version.
- Move the .jar file to your .minecraft/mods folder.
- Launch Minecraft with the Forge profile.

Compatibility
Extra Golems works with most mods. It doesn’t change core game mechanics, just adds new creatures. Check the mod page for any known issues before installing with a large modpack.
