Does Classic Bars work with other mods?

Yes. It has built-in support for mods like Botania, Tough as Nails, and Random Things. It also plays nicely with most other mods that don't heavily modify the HUD.

Can the bars show more than 20 armor?

Yes. Vanilla caps armor display at 20, but Classic Bars shows up to 30. If another mod removes the armor cap, this mod will display higher values too.

What's saturation and why would I want to see it?

Saturation is how "full" your hunger bar actually is. You lose hunger over time, but saturation drains first. Seeing it helps you understand when you need to eat.

Classic Bars Mod Overview

Classic Bars replaces the icon rows on your HUD with bars instead. No more stacking multiple rows when your health or armor goes over 20. Everything fits on one screen and stays proportional to how much you actually have.

What It Does

The mod changes how health, hunger, armor, and absorption display. Instead of the vanilla system that adds new rows when you exceed 20 points, bars compress everything into a fixed space. You can see your actual values at a glance without the interface getting cluttered.

Main Features

Health and absorption bars stay the same length no matter if you have 20 health or 200. The bar fills proportionally to your actual max health.
Armor display goes beyond 20 unlike vanilla. Normally the armor bar caps at 20 protection visually, but this mod shows up to 30 armor (or higher if another mod removes the cap).
Saturation and exhaustion are visible. You can see your food saturation level and how hungry you actually are, stats that are normally hidden.
Armor toughness shows above the hunger bar. Vanilla diamond armor has toughness, and this displays it clearly.
When you hold food, it previews saturation changes. Pick up a steak and see exactly how much hunger and saturation it’ll give you before you eat it.

This mod replaces the need for Overloaded Armor Bar, Colorful Health Bar, and Armor Toughness Bar because all those features are built in.
