How to Craft Arrow of Swiftness (Speed II) in Minecraft
The Arrow of Swiftness is a tipped arrow that gives anything you hit the Speed II effect for 11 seconds. That’s a 40% movement speed boost, which is huge in combat or just getting around. You can craft these in bulk once you have the right materials.
What You Need to Craft This Arrow
To make a batch of 8 Arrows of Swiftness, grab these materials:
- 8 Arrows (regular ones)
- 1 Lingering Potion of Swiftness (Speed II)
Crafting Recipe
Open your crafting table and follow this pattern in the 3×3 grid:
- Row 1: Arrow, Arrow, Arrow
- Row 2: Arrow, Lingering Potion of Swiftness, Arrow
- Row 3: Arrow, Arrow, Arrow
The potion goes in the center. Arrange the 8 arrows around it, and you’ll get 8 Arrows of Swiftness back. Quick tip: hover over the arrows in the crafting menu to see their effects listed.

What to Do With It
Arrows of Swiftness are solid for PvP builds or letting your friends move faster during survival adventures. Shoot someone with it and they’ll be zooming. The 11 second duration is short enough that it’s not overpowered, but long enough to matter in a fight.
