Aqua Affinity Enchantments Wiki Guide

This Minecraft tutorial explains the Aqua Affinity enchantment with screenshots and step-by-step instructions.

Background

The Aqua Affinity enchantment speeds up how fast you can mine blocks underwater. It basically makes mining underwater the same speed as mining on land.

You can add the Aqua Affinity enchantment to any helmet or leather cap using an enchanting table, anvil, or game command. Then you will need to wear the enchanted helmet to gain the improvement in mining speed.

The maximum level for the Aqua Affinity enchantment is Level 1. This means that you can only enchant an item with up to Aqua Affinity I, and nothing higher for this enchantment.

Wear the Enchanted Helmet

Once you have a helmet/cap that is enchanted with Aqua Affinity, you need to wear the enchanted helmet. You will not gain the improved underwater mining speed until the helmet is worn.

Aqua Affinity Enchantments - Wiki Guide 11

Move the helmet/cap with Aqua Affinity from your inventory to your character’s helmet box.

You will see your character’s appearance change when the helmet is worn.

Now that you are wearing the enchanted helmet on your head, you will be much faster at breaking blocks underwater.
