Applied Energistics 2 Mod
Applied Energistics 2 is a major overhaul mod that adds advanced storage and automation systems to Minecraft. The centerpiece is the ME Network, a digital storage system that lets you store hundreds of different items in a single block. Everything connects through cables, allowing you to build intricate automation systems that handle imports, exports, and item management automatically.
Core Features
ME Network Storage
The heart of the mod is the ME Storage system. Instead of filling your base with dozens of chests, compress everything into ME Drives. Each drive holds multiple storage cells, and you can stack as many drives as you need. Access your entire inventory from any ME Terminal, no matter where you are in your base.
Automation Tools
Applied Energistics 2 gives you the tools to automate almost anything:
- ME Import Bus – pulls items from adjacent containers into your network
- ME Export Bus – pushes items from your network into containers
- ME Level Emitter – sends a redstone signal when item levels match your settings
- ME Interface – lets other mods interact with your ME Network
P2P Tunnels
Need to send items, fluids, or signals long distances? P2P Tunnels compress everything into a single cable, so you don’t need massive cable runs across your base. Incredibly useful for large builds.
Wireless Access
Craft a Wireless Terminal and access your entire network from anywhere. Never waste time walking back to your main storage area again.
Building Blocks
Applied Energistics 2 comes with tons of decorative blocks. Sky Stone, Certus Quartz Pillar, Quartz Glass, and Charged Quartz Fixtures give your build a clean, high-tech look. Cable Facades let you hide all those pipes and cables behind solid blocks.
Installation
Applied Energistics 2 requires a mod loader. Choose one based on your Minecraft version:
- Minecraft Forge (available for most versions)
- Fabric Loader (versions 1.16.2+)
- NeoForge (versions 1.20+)
After installing your mod loader:
- Download the mod file matching your Minecraft version and loader
- Place the .jar file in your .minecraft/mods folder
- Launch the game

Compatibility
Applied Energistics 2 works well with other mods. It plays nicely with other automation and storage mods, and the ME Interface block makes it compatible with almost anything. Check mod descriptions for any known conflicts, though serious incompatibilities are rare.
